Golden Apple Award

 

The Golden Apple Award recognizes the outstanding achievement and  dedication of any individual in the debate community. This may include a head coach, assistant coach, judge, tab room worker, friend of the debate community, etc.

The Millennium Year Golden Apple Award Winner, Mr. Wayne Brinton, is the retired head Policy Debate Coach at Apple Valley. He will be assisting with tournament management again this year. Please be sure to greet Wayne! The 2010 Golden Apple Award will be presented during the MinneApple Debate Tournament Awards Ceremony on Saturday, November 6th. Please submit a brief explanation of your nominees to Pam Wycoff via email by October 8th.

Distinguished Alumnus Award

The 2005 tournament was the Twentieth Anniversary of the MinneApple. In our emerald year, we introduced the formation of the AVHS Forensics Alumni Association. At each MinneApple Debate Tournament, we will recognize an alumnus of the Apple Valley Debate Team for his or her contributions, achievements, service after graduating from AVHS.

The first Distinguished Alumnus Award was presented to Apple Valley's first Lincoln Douglas debater, Shannon Heim, at the Minneapple Debate Tournament Awards Ceremony in 2005. Any Apple Valley alum is welcome to submit nominations for consideration to Pam Wycoff via email by October 8th.
