2015 Harvard Tournament

The 41st Annual Harvard National Forensics Tournament 

Even in the dead of winter, inexpensive hotels are difficult to find near Cambridge.  We have secured special rates with the following properties.  In each case, it is necessary when making reservations to indicate that you are attending the Harvard Speech and Devate Tournament. 


The Hyatt Regency Cambridge, 575 Memorial Drive, Cambridge

100 rooms. Situated on the Charles River, a five-minute drive to Harvard, and our closest hotel to the policy debate tournament in Brighton, the Hyatt is a spectacular property. The hotel also provides one-way complimentary shuttle service to CRLS in the mornings.  Rates are $149.00 per night for up to four persons per room; this includes complimentary access to the Hyatt health club with full lap pool.  Reservations can be made by calling 800-233-1234 or 617-492-1234 by January 21, 2015


Le Meridien, Cambridge MA  

80 Rooms. Le Meridien is a 4 Diamond rated property, located 3 blocks walking distance from the Central Square subway stop on the Red Line, one stop to Harvard Square.  Sydney's Grille located on property.  Lots of food and shopping are available in the neighborhood.  Grocery store is located in the same complex.  Rates are $189.00 per night for up to four persons per room.  Complimentary wired and wireless Internet is available in all guestrooms and public areas.  For reservations please contact Heather Schell at 617-551-0312 or call toll free 888-627-7025 by January 12, 2015. The Residence Inn, Marriott, Cambridge Center, Cambridge

25 Rooms.  $179 per night.  Next door to the Cambridge Center Marriott and the T, for a quick ride straight to Harvard.  Parking is available for  $25.00 a day. Reservations can be made by calling Marriott reservations at 800-331-3131 or calling the hotel directly at 617-349-0700, no later than January 21, 2015.


The Marriott Hotel, 2 Cambridge Center, Cambridge

310 Rooms.  Next door to the Kendall Square T-stop, for a quick ride straight to Harvard. Rates are $157.00 for up to four persons per room.  Champions restaurant is located on property, with several more food options in the area including Legal Sea Foods. Complimentary wireless Internet access in the lobby.  Reservations can be made by calling the hotel at  617-494-6600 or the national number 800-228-9290.  Reservations must be made by January 14, 2015. Regardless of what the reservations agent tells you on the phone, you cannot make reservations by calling Dallas Perkins or Harvard Debate. 


Holiday Inn, Boston-Bunker Hill, 30 Washington St., Somerville

70 Rooms.  This is the hotel for our college tournament.  Easily accessible from I-93 and only a five to seven minute drive to the Harvard campus.  Complimentary Internet service throughout the hotel.  Great heated indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi.  The rate remains at last year's reduced rate of $99.00 for up to four people!  Free Parking and the lowest local area hotel tax.  Reservations by calling 617-628-1000, no later than 5:00 pm, January 29, 2015.


Wyndham Boston, Beacon Hill, 5 Blossom Street, Boston  Sold Out

45 rooms. Just one more subway stop past the Cambridge Marriott (but a block or so away from it), very much in Boston, but just across the Charles River from Cambridge. Surrounded by restaurants and fast food, and only five blocks from Faneuil Hall and other great shopping. Rates: $139.00 for up to four persons. Parking is expensive in an adjacent covered garage. The Liberty Hotel, Boston

80 Rooms.  Boston's newest luxury hotel, conveniently located next to the MGH/Charles St. T stop on the red line (3 stops from Harvard Square). The Liberty Hotel is a spectacular renovation of the old Suffolk County Jail. It offers easy access to a wealth of outdoor activities, shopping, dining, entertainment venues, and downtown Boston.  Luxurious beds, baths, HD LCD Televisions available.  High speed Internet complementary.  Rooms for up to four people are available for $195.00.  Reservations may be made by calling Jennifer Morelli at the hotel at 1-617-399-4225 by January 23, 2015.


DoubleTree Guest Suites, Boston, 400 Soldiers Field Rd., Boston 01234

30 Suites. Just across the Charles River from Harvard, this hotel is home to the world-famous Sculler’s Jazz Club. An all-suites hotel, each suite has two rooms, two TVs and telephones. The rates are $149.00 for one or two people and $169.00 for three or four persons. The hotel offers a complimentary business center, indoor heated pool, whirlpool, sauna and fitness center. Best Western Hotel III Tria, 220 Alewife Brook Parkway, Cambridge

10 Rooms.  A newly remodeled upscale hotel in West Cambridge, about a mile from campus.  It is especially convenient to the Radcliff Quadrangle.  Rates are $155.00 per night for up to 4 people per room.  The hotel offers free shuttle service to Harvard Square and a complimentary hot buffet breakfast.  High speed Internet access is complimentary throughout the hotel. Doubletreee Club Hotel Boston Bayside, 240 Mt. Vernon Street, Boston MA  02125

35 Rooms.  Rates $119 for up to four persons.  Located near the Columbia/UMass Station stop on the red line -- about a twenty-five minute ride from Harvard Square. It is within walking distance of the JFK Presidential Library and Museum and two miles from the heart of downtown Boston. Reservations may be made by calling 1-800-222-TREE (8733) no later than January 22, 2015.
