I am pleased to invite you to the 2010 Phi Rho Pi Region IV Forensics Tournament, held this year on March 19-20, 2010.  The tournament will take place on the campus of McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, IL and at Holiday Inn Hotel in Crystal Lake, IL.  We have negotiated a great rate with Holiday Inn and hope that you will be able to join us for what should be an enjoyable and educational tournament. 

 

Because of the popularity of Parliamentary Debate, we will be awarding team sweepstakes similarly to how they do at the national tournament. Bronze, Silver & Gold awards in IE, Debate and Overall (combined).  The schedule will also accommodate 4 preliminary rounds of Parli.

You must fill out all of the national forms online.  Housing forms are due by March 14^th and the entries are due by March 28^th.  If you have any problems, please contact me as soon as possible so that I can assist you.  

 

I am excited about and extremely proud of the creativity, dedication, and hard work of this region.  I hope the Regional Tournament this year can again get your students excited about Nationals and Region IV.  At the regional tournament, we are going to continue using hotel rooms for competition on Saturday.  In previous years, this has been an effective way of preparing our students for national competition.  As previously mentioned, we will be using the Holiday Inn Hotel in Crystal Lake, IL as the tournament hotel.  They have guaranteed us a rate of 83.00/room.  We must have at least 35 rooms to run our tournament at the hotel.  The block of rooms will be saved until February 17, 2010 so please make your reservations before then.  You may call the hotel at (815) 477-7000.  When calling, make sure you tell them you are with the McHenry County College Regional Speech Tournament so that you can get the discounted rate.
