TRIEPC Export Notes

  1. Download the latest version of TRIEPC from the website:
    http://www3.baylor.edu/~Richard_Edwards/Software.html
These notes are current as of the version with revision date 24 January 2004.
  2. Go to the www.joyoftournaments.com website for your tournament. Login as an administrative user for the tournament. Click on the "administration" link. Click on "Export Data".
  3. You should see an option labeled "TRPC/TRIEPC Import Format" near the top of the page. Click on that link. The website will begin the process of preparing the various files that are necessary for use with TRIEPC.
  4. Save the files exported by the website onto your computer. You can have the files emailed as attachments to an account of your choosing, or you can download the files directly from the website (right click on each file and select "Save Target As").

You will need the following files for the import:

    trpc.txt
    judges.csv
    schools.csv

  5. Inside TRIEPC, select "Format", then "Upload Data Using the Grapevine/Joy of Tournaments System"
  6. Press the "Upload IE ENTRIES Text File From Floppy" button. Browse to the location on your computer where "trpc.txt" has been saved. Open that file. You will receive warnings from TRIEPC for students that are entered in more that 4 events. The website allows an unlimited number of events per competitor; TRIEPC allows up to 4. Students that are over that limit will be flagged as you import the entries.
  7. Press the "Upload Judges From Floppy" button. Locate the "judges.csv" file that was downloaded from the website. Open that file.
  8. Judges will come in as being available for all rounds. You can scroll thru each of the judges using "Entry" and then "Enter Judges" from the menu. From the website, you should pull up the "View All Registered Judges" report from the [Judges] tab. Judges that have special notes or are not available for all days of the tournament will need to be visited to set the appropriate rounds of availability.
