2012 CFL National Qualifier @ Marist

Coaches, 

The Atlanta Diocese of the National Catholic Forensic League is proud to announce the Philip Wertz National Qualifiying Tournament on February 10 - 11, 2012 at Marist School.  On Friday night, we will be offering Student Congress and all other events will be on Saturday.  We will be offering the following events on Saturday:

IE’s -  Dramatic Performance(includes dramatic and humorous pieces), Duo Interp, Extemporaneous Speaking, Oral Interpretation of Literature (Prose/Poetry), Declamation (open to only 9th and 10th graders), and Original Oratory.

Debate – Lincoln/Douglas, Public Forum, and Policy.  We will be using the Jan/Feb LD topic and PF will be using the February topic.  Please note that Public Forum will not be using "Flip For Sides" in the debates. Each team will go PRO twice, and CON

For rules for each event, you can log onto www.ncfl.org.

We will have 4 rounds in each event.  After 4 rounds, we will take the top five finishers, and they will be eligible to compete at the National Catholic Forensic League Tournament, which will be held in Baltimore, MD.  

This tournament will  NOT  be counting as a state qualifier for GFCA.

Students can double enter in IEs.  If you wish to triple enter - please contact me.  NO STUDENT CAN ENTER DOUBLE ENTER IN DEBATES AND IE'SA STUDENT CANNOT QUALIFY IN MORE THAN ONE EVENT FOR NATIONALS.   If a student qualifies in more than one event – s/he must choose one event for Nationals.
