The Coral Glades High School Debate Team and Mr. Jonathan Gordon invite you to the third SFCFL preliminary tournament of the year. Remember, in order to have a student compete at the Grand Final Tournament, a student must compete in at least ONE SFCFL tournament (see schedule at www.sfcfl.org). A student in Congress must have spoken at least once and all other competitors must have ranks for all rounds in the tournament. If these requirements have not been met, a student is not eligible for the Grand Final tournament.
Entries: 6 per event, except 6 in Congress
Events offered: TD, LD, NPF, VPF, MX, OO, OI, DEC, DUO, DP, SC
Entry fees: $12.00 per student (entry includes lunch) payable to SFCFL.
Judges: 1 per every 2 LD/TD/PFD or fraction thereof, and 1 for every 5 IE (including Congress). Large squads with more than 35 IE competitors need only 7 IE judges. NO high school student judges. There are NO hired judges.
Congress: Congress legislation should be submitted by Wednesday February 1, 2012 to dcamara@columbushs.com. Legislation will be released on www.sfcfl.org on Wednesday February 1, 2012 and Chamber Assignments will be released on www.sfcfl.org the week of the tournament.
Lunch: This is a closed campus tournament; if you or your student leaves campus; your entire team is subject to being disqualified. Coral Springs is offering lunches with chips and soda; Choices include tuna, turkey, veggie, and Italian. Please order your lunch choices on the web site; don’t forget your judges and coaches lunches are $6.00 each. THE COACH MUST ORDER LUNCH FOR THEM. All meals orders will be verified and invoices adjusted. If you DROP a student please make sure to DROP the meal.
Registration: Entries will be accepted until Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 4:00 p.m.
Tournament Registration: Registration will take place in the Coral Glades Media Center from 7:00-7:45 a.m. Please be prompt.
