2012 FFL Region #5 Qualifier

FLORIDA FORENSIC LEAGUE REGION V TOURNAMENT
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 4, 2012

EVENTS: All events. Students may double enter. Student Congress, Group Interp, and all debate events may not double enter. Students may not cross enter in both Extemporaneous Speaking events. Schools may enter up to FOUR students in each event (unless changed in the fall vote). Schools may enter only ONE Group Interp.

COST: $13.00 per student entry. $7.00 per extra lunch including all judges, observers, and coaches.

STUDENT LUNCH: Subway sandwiches - Turkey, Italian, Tuna, or veggie, chips and a drink.

JUDGE AND COACH LUNCH supplied by Mario the Baker: pasta, meatballs, sauce, garlic rolls and salad

JUDGE REQUIREMENTS: 1 Judge per every 2 debaters/teams per debate event, 1 judge per every 5 IE events including congress. Schools MUST meet their judge quotas.

STUDENT CONGRESS: Legislation must be submitted by email as a Word attachment NO Later than Friday, January 27, 2012. at 4:00 p.m. Please use the templates on the FFL website. Legislation submitted after January 27^th will not be accepted.

REGISTRATION: Schools must register for the tournament via Joy of Tournaments. Coaches will be required to enter student names/events, judge names and pools, all OO, OI, DI, HI, and GI titles, publication information, and lunches. This is required by FFL. Registration deadline is Tuesday, January 31, 2012, 4:00 p.m.

TOURNAMENT DAY REGISTRATION: 7:30 – 8:00 AM. Any school not registered at 8:00 am will be eliminated from competition. Round One will begin shortly after 8:00 am.

The format for each event will depend on the number of entries received. The Tournament Director will publish the number of preliminary and elimination rounds (if any) along with any power-matching schemes at final registration.
