Features of the 2009 Tournament

 

 

1.       CONGRESS: Friday sessions: 10 AM –12 PM and 12:30PM  – 2:30 PM

2.   Novice & Experienced Divisions & Awards in all events. You can  bring more kids this way and have beginners compete amongst peers only.

3.       All AIA Events

Debate : LD, Public Forum, & Policy Debate--Varsity & Novice will be collapsed if less than 4 teams in a division or at discretion of Tournament Director. Please contact me if Policy conflicts with another tournament.

Platform Speaking : Oratory, Expository, Impromptu (limit 5 per school per division), Extemporaneous.

Interpretive :   Drama, Prose, Poetry, Humor, Duo Interp, Duo Acting

Storytelling: Theme is Fairy Tales

4.       Scripts allowed in all events but must be in piece book .

5.       Debate : Prelim rounds Friday from 3:00 pm break to Semis and Final on Saturday afternoon.

7.    Platform & Interpretive: Events break from three Preliminary rounds to Consolation & Finals (up to 14 in each division of each event) for early departure for home (c.6 PM Saturday)

8.       Awards: Medals for top three Novices and Experienced in each event. Ribbons for others. All ribbons for Consolations. Small school sweepstakes is back for teams registering less than 10 students.

9.       Costs: $5.00 per individual event, $10.00 per team event, Team Base Fee $25.00
