You should come because:

·       Special PCDS rules guarantee running on time.

·       Guaranteed 5 policy prelims, 6 LD prelims.

·       Mandatory judge disclosure increases educational value of activity.

·       We will be sad if you don’t.

Things you should know:

·       Please read the separate rules sheet.

·       All judges (both policy and LD) are required to fill out a paradigm sheet.

·       All rounds have mandatory disclosure/discussion post-round.

·       Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania.

·       We’ll sell food on campus so you don’t have to leave.

·       Novice and Varsity sections for both LD and policy.

·       “Novice” means “first year in that event”.  If you’d like an exception to be made, you have to ask very nicely.

·       Elton John’s real name is Reggie Dwight.

Or 602 955-8200 x4249

Fees:

$40 school fee.

$30 each policy team

$15 each LD debater

Judges: 1 judge per 2 policy teams or LD’ers.  Please have your judges fill out the paradigm sheet prior to registration so we can hand out judge info prior to rd 1.

The additional fee for each policy team/LDer not covered by a judge is $50.  (We try to have a judging pool of people who are experienced and competent.  We ask that you not bring judges who are just learning how to do it.)  All judges are required to disclose and discuss their decision with the competitors at the conclusion of the round.  Judges who don’t feel comfortable doing this probably should use this tournament as an opportunity to sit in rounds with more experienced judges and learn, rather than judging themselves.  All first year out judges must be approved by Mr. Guthrie
