Read before registering

We will be offering 4 rounds in all debate events. We are offering Novice and Varsity divisions in Public Forum, Lincoln Douglas, and Policy debate. We will also be offering the new, NSDA pilot event; Big Questions debate. You can find more information about the event here:  https://www.speechanddebate.org/big-questions/

We will be using the official NSDA resolutions for all events. Please see the NSDA website:  https://www.speechanddebate.org/topics/

LD will get 5 minutes prep. CX will get 10. PF will remain at 2. BQD is 4.

Public Forum will not flip before the round. Sides will be locked to allow for side balance and to better facilitate the tabulation process.

Judges should make their best effort to fulfill their commitment. 3 rounds are owed for every team entered.

The tournament directors strongly advise that teams debating each other in out rounds advance the higher seed. This saves judges, rooms and helps to expedite the tournament. We will not break brackets.

Internet Use

Use of the internet in all debate events is prohibited. Digital communication during round (including prep) is also prohibited, barring emergency situations. Students may access Google Drive  and other cloud-based, digital databases to access documents that have been uploaded prior to the beginning of the round.

Disclosure

We request that all Varsity LDers and Varsity Policy Debaters have updated their wikis: If you're not on the wiki it is very easy to create your team and upload your cites. Email me if you need help with this.

Policy: https://hspolicy.debatecoaches.org/

LD: https://hsld.debatecoaches.org/

Judge disclosure is highly encouraged. We will have ballot runners that can take your ballot for you after the round has finished. Judges should feel free to provide a reason for decision and verbal, constructive feedback.

Once the deadline has passed, please email Chris Flowers your drops and changes: chris.flowers@cps.k12.ar.us
